[edit] Information

China’s Great Wall: Series 1 The story behind the monumental structure that has become a major tourist attraction in our age.

[edit] Mongol Invaders

We travel back in time to around 160 B.C. For centuries, belligerent nomads from the north had been raiding, looting and pillaging Chinese settlements. Emperor Wu of the Han dynasty decided to heed the advice of his generals and build a wall against the enemies. The Great Wall of China had begun.

[edit] Protecting the Dragon

Never a symbol of national power, the Great Wall of China is simply a monument to a culture that tried to live by itself. When Western Europe looked East to the Chinese Empire in the late 1700's, the wall was still being built and improved against outside invaders.
